Generator Hookups in Mercer Island: what's different here
The island's mix of older lakefront homes and large remodels means panels range from original 100-amp service to newer 400-amp service. Wind storms knock out power in older, tree-lined Mercer Island neighborhoods like East Seattle. We install standby generators and portable-generator interlocks so you can run power safely.
Permits and inspections
A transfer switch or generator inlet is permitted electrical work. Mercer Island runs its own electrical permit and inspection program, so permits for this work go through the City of Mercer Island rather than Washington L&I (L&I list of cities). We pull the permit and meet the inspector.
Utilities
Electric service in Mercer Island is provided by PSE. For panel, meter and service work we schedule the disconnect and reconnect with the utility for you.
